Choose a Path by Bri Van Reenen

Choose a Path by Bri Van Reenen

I think you think it is a principle —
necessary evil to stand behind.
You know better — experience annul;
perhaps pain acknowledged, but left despite.
I think you think people will choose a path;
The one cannot exist within the whole.
Find peace on earth, only to suffer wrath;
even the kindest forfeited control.
I think you think one got in the way.
Betrayed by one, betrayed by all, I think —
too daft to see the truth beyond their fray,
consequently angry to cut the link.
But your thoughts are never new —
waste of mine to think of you.
